Message time.

If any of you remember last time when i told you that the japco OD transmission in the Z is a huge power robber, none of you belived me how much power it could really rob over the manual. Well I have been waiting for this day for a while now and thanks to Zhound i can even further prove my point.

lets compare our two cars.

we both have stock engines similar turbos, basically bolt ons, I have nos but that has nothing to do with what I am going to say, the only difference is that his car is 5speed, and mine is auto.

Now his car dynoed 500 something, and I only dynoe 465. he ran 11.8 @ 127 with 20 something psi, and a 1.9 something 60'
on the other hand I ran 11.1 at 126.7 with 20 something psi and a 1.75 60'

side note I have run 1.63 60 ft 11.26 @103 lifting and coasting at 3/4 track, that definitely would have been my ten second pass but i had a problem

now granted I ran a better et because I use an 80shot of nos just to spool my turbos and then it shuts off at 15psi, but you notice our mph are practically identical.

and if you know anything you know that power is relative to hp, so that mean zhound and i have to be make near identical hp at the flywheel in order to get the same mph, the fact is that the auto seriously robs power on the dyno. my car only says 465 but if you have half a brain in your head you have to notice that it would take equal power to run the same trap speed

other things to note
-5speeds always run a little more mph compared to a similarly staged auto
-I have a na diff (which I want to take out)which also drops the mph due to gearing

I know you are not going to believe me again, and a lot of you are going to talk shit, but this is one more bit of proof that autos rob close to double the power of 5speeds.

lets hear it, what do you guys have to say now?
